So close but yet so far however the title is still in our grasp when we visit Alveley on Saturday needing just 8 points to secure top spot. At 60 for 5 the visitors look in trouble and 100 seemed a long way off but some fine late innings & some poor catching let Himley off the hook. A score of 222 always looked challenging but Suk & Tom Hall 102 partnership gave the home side every chance to secure CCC victory but after they both departed a fall of wickets soon put the pressure on the lower order & tight bowling allowed the visitors to secure victory by 9 runs.Euan Buttle & Will Brandeth both bowled well taking 3 wickets a piece but it catches that win matches!

So we go into battle with an away game against Alveley who have been challenging all season and it could be a cracker. Any travelling support I know would be very welcome
