A game of nearly 600 runs made it a wonderful day for a big crowd who had come to enjoy the Annual Charity tea. The game started with a 97 run partnership between Sam Willams 71 & Amaan Edavalath 49 in quick time. With the wicket playing wonderfully Jack Collins took full advantage hitting a magnificent 103 including 11 4’s & 4 6’s. A brisk 39 by Callum Butler took the home side to a formidable 302. A total which beyond the away team for long periods of the game then changed with Max Back House, Ryan Trattel and Saminda Fernado having different ideas. At 244 for 6 the away team looked well in the game but the ever increasing run rate finally told with them finishing just 6 runs short. A truly great game of cricket played in a wonderful spirit. Pick of the bowlers once again was our spin King Rahul 10- 42 - 4 wickets, ably supported by Charlie Cresswell 10-69-2 wickets. We move on to top of the table Brockhampton on Saturday in another local derby

The 2nds visited Stourbridge needing a win to consolidate second place in the league. Despite losing Buttle for 0 Suk 48 & Jackson Heath with a fine 81 took the total to 140. Further contributions by Luke Hall ,Savvy, & Adam Heath took colwall to a healthy 240 runs. In reply no Stourbridge batsman really got to terms with the accurate bowling attack of Savvy 2 for 21. Lucas 3 for 13, Luke Hall 2for 17 and welcome return for Toby Clifford 2 for 5. The home inning s finished on just 94. Colwall now have 36 point cushion but will need to win at least two games to be certain of promotion. Availability will be a key ingredient to success.

The 3 rd team entertained Eastnor on a blisteringly hot day on ghost meadow after being put in by the hosts the visitors accumulated runs throughout the top order and set CCC 235. A total which was achievable on a perfect wicket however some poor choice of shots which meant a regular fall of wickets made the run chase unlikely. Colwall’s Andrew Heath hit a really good 57 & Paul Barnes 30 but despite there efforts the home side fell short by 67 runs. Campbell Hall continued to show his promise with a fine spell of bowling 9 overs 2 for 41, a potential star of the future I think. With just 2 games to go the home side really need to win one of those. The Ledbury home fixture could be a key moment!
