Clogs season contiues in a positive way

Buttle & Beswick do the job
- DCP

On Tuesday eveningI Clogs travelled to Preston Wynne to play Cross Keys in T20 match at the unique setting with gkorious views.

Having won the toss Clogs batted first on a lively wicket scored 111 in their 20 overs with some excellent knocks from Euan Buttle (28) and James Beswick (25) and Andrew Heath (22) at interval it was felt this was a par score with the wicket providing plenty of bounce and movement.

Cross Keys in response opened their innings with a considered approach against some excellent bowling - Clogs captain David Hall set some intelligent fielding positions recognising the unique contours of the ground and marshalled the bowling attack to limit the opportunties for the opposition to gain any momentumintheir innings.

Despite some steady batting from H Bartlett (17) and P Kirby (18) Clogs were always in control of the game with Mike Beale and Martin Oliver (1/4) only conceding 13 runs in the final four overs of the opponents innings supported by some excellent fielding including two stumpimgs and catch by wicket keeper Andrew Heath and Dave Hall (Tubs) taking 2 for 6 in his two overs Cross Keys finished 18 runs short on 93 for 8 another good win for the Clogs.

After the game both teams went to the Cross Keys pub for a pint and some food another great evening of social cricket.

Next Tuesday is the last game of the season at home v Alfrick.
