The Clogs Social Team gathered at the Thai Rama, Colwall for their annual dinner on Tuesday 16th December. After a fabulous three course buffet meal it was time to reflect on the 2025 season.
Tubs, as Captain, reported 6 wins and 6 losses with 3 matches cancelled due to rain. During a summer of gorgeous sunny weather this was a hard pill to swallow. The team played 2 Saturday matches to touring teams and had a great time despite losing. Their games versus Barnards Green this year, our local rivals, produced two wins, which is always welcome.
DCP relayed a message from Kim Berry who is currently cruising the waters surrounding Australia and attending some of the Ashes fixtures (let's hope England improve as it is not the best time to be a Pom there). Kim is very grateful for the support from the team who are an integral part of Colwall Cricket Club. He wished to thank everyone for their support and making Tuesdays nights along with the players attending Senior Nets and Evening League Team the best social night of the week. Also for hosting the largest event of the season in the Simon Oliver 6-a-side Tournament. Fingers crossed 2026 will be a winning year for the Clogs.
DCP said with the Clogs Social Team playing for 40 years this year it was great to see Jeremy Croshaw, a founder member this evening. DCP and Kenders have clocked up over 30 years service each, quite an achievement. DCP thanked everyone for their support and for stepping up to score, umpire, run the BBQ and clear up in the kitchen this season. This is greatly appreciated.
It was then time for the awards of Player of the Season and Club Person of the Season, voted by the players. Oscar (Wayne Hoskins) was awarded Player of the Season 2025 and Mike Beale Club Person of the Season 2025. DCP gifted Rob Kendrick, Michelle Hall and Jane Kendrick for their support in 2025 and Tubs (David Hall) as Captain gifted Martin Oliver and Andrew Heath for their support in 2025.

A video of the 1993 season filmed by the late, great John Sangster featuring Eric Llewellyn as Captain who passed away recently is available on the website. An evening is going to be arranged, towards the start of the 2026 season to show the video on the club's TV screen, date and time will be communicated.
