On a beautiful summers evening CCC made it a double of cup victories this season after winning the Thompson final a few weeks ago we secured The Dowdeswell Cup. All in all it was a great all round team performance lead once again by the magnificent Jack Collins. Winning the toss and batting Colwall accumulated runs steadily within form Sam Williams once again leading from the front with 50no and ably supported in the opening role Sukhraj Gill 24, a flashing innings of 24 later on in the innings by Callum Butler took the home side to a respectable 130 against a strong Worcester side though it may have looked under par for some spectators on the ground.

Bowling tightly from the start all the Colwall bowlers played their part in this fantastic victory always behind the clock it was only Jack Flood 34 & Matt Walters 33no that looked likely give them victory. The old saying that catches win matches came to the fore when Suk took a blinder when diving forward to dismiss Jack flood when he looked in ominous form. With the run rate per ball increasing CCC strode to victory with confidence and a superb team performance. Jack with 3 for 15 off 20 & our spin king Rahul 2 for 13 off 15 were are top contributors with the ball

The evening league season has now ended with this success. It certainly has been a real club effort with players from all 3 teams equally contributing & long may it continue. Thanks for everyone who has participated. It fills my heart with joy to see the fantastic camaraderie around our great club
