A large crowd enjoyed an exciting 6-a-side Cricket Tournament and Charity Family Fun Day on Sunday at the ground. Thank you to everyone who attended and special thanks to all our volunteers who contributed to the success of the event. Whether you helped set up for the event, donated an item for the raffle, tombola or made a cake, loaned us a gazebo or a freezer, organised the cricket tournament, entered a team, umpired, scored, played in the matches or worked on one of the stalls, bar or bbq, helped clear up on Sunday evening or Monday morning, you are amazing and we could not put on this sort of event without you. Colwall Cricket Club is a great club and yesterday we paid tribute to a great clubman, who is sorely missed by us all. A special Simon Oliver bench was unveiled courtesy of Dom Bannister together with a Simon Oliver Memorial Cup courtesy of David Hall, Captain of The Clogs social team. The final involved Colwall Development XI and Colwall Social Team, The Clogs. The Development XI were the victors and one of their players Jackson Heath was awarded Player of the Day. Simon was a passionate supporter of developing young talent and one of the players summed it up perfectly saying ' he would have been so proud to see the CCC Development XI win the Simon Oliver Memorial Cup'.
We hope you visited the HeartStart stand where they were carrying out demonstrations, and raising awareness of their work in our community providing free life-saving training and installing Public Access Defibrillators.
