Henry demonstrates form is temporary but class is permanent!

Issac stars with ball

A huge away victory against Himley for the 1st team brought some smiling faces back to the club on Saturday for the summer music event. It was great to see the togetherness of all three teams on the evening so thank you all for your support. These events matter & I have to say it was a cracking night as well.

Chasing a total of 192 it was once again Amaan Edavalath who stood firm with a fine 66 no in 139 balls hitting 8 4’s supported by Pete Recordon 22 Jai Kurt 28 & Max Moor 23 and finally in a 75 run partnership with skipper Rob Cook 37 no. Great to see Rob back in the runs. Earlier Charlie Cresswell 10 2 for 28 again bowled well supported by Rahul 2 wickets and Jai 2 for 60 off his 15 . Great to see Charlie Clements back on the pitch after 12 month absence. Welcome back Charlie.

Two wins on the bounce and now back to Stowe Lane to face a Droitwich side who currently sit in 3rd position with CCC moving up to 9th. Still tight at the bottom but with the winning momentum anything still is possible.

The second victory of day was supplied by our 3rd eleven who defeated Presteigne by 2 wickets and gaining a much needed 20 points. Star of the show turned out to be the ever green John Henry who steered them to victory with a 86 ball 64 no supported by Chris Colon and latterly Giles Morgan. A superb victory with Isaac Farley staring with the ball 8.1 overs 3 for 29 , a superb spell from this fine CCC prospect. Giles Morgan bowled beautifully for his 4 for 25

It was a tough day for our 2nd team with a very strong Woolhope 1st team taking the honours. A home total of 238 never quite looked enough on a fast outfield with the top four home batsman taking the total to 144 things looked good for a big score but it was left to some fine lofty hitting by skipper Adam Heath 44 to get them to the total. Although Woolhope lost 5 wickets they somewhat always looked in control helped by some indifferent fielding.

With good availability seemingly for next week the seconds need to secure victory at Rushwick never an easy place to gain maximum points.

Big weekend again coming up for the club including our Pink Day six a side day where your support would be hugely appreciated. Be it donating a bottle or a cake for the various stalls or helping out with bar bbq umpiring etc etc etc.

It’s a very special day to celebrate the life of Jo Lister who sadly passed last year & will be supporting the Worcester Breast Unit Haven. The Please come along to support it means a lot
