- Kim Berry

This is a piece I write every month for The Colwall Clock, I thought I would share this copy which is for publication in Oct with you all

Colwall Cricket Club - “What a season we have had”

With the season nearly over its time for some reflections on whats been taking place on what has been an unbelievable summer of sunshine

Successes 2025

1st Team - Currently 4th at time of writing but with chance of promotion to the Premier league

2nd Team - Promotion to Division 5 (maybe champions as well depending on last 2 games)

3rd Team - Consolidation after a slow start some really good results secured the team in Div 8

Sunday Development team - A huge success with our young cricketers being introduced into Senior cricket in a warm and friendly environment against like minded opposition

Midweek - Two major cups won

Juniors - Record numbers, 231 young People enjoying recreational sport at the club. Fantastic Progression by all teams and many players selected for County representation, a lot more on our Juniors and plans for 2026 in the next edition.

Womens & Girls

Record numbers at soft ball with a new coach who has really taken the club forward. Success in the matches finish mid table compared to last in 2025. Hardball teams for u 13 & the beginning of a ladies hardball team. A huge move forward in an area which the club will continue to invest in2026 & beyond

Clogs - A wonderful set of like minded individuals who still enjoy the game of cricket on every Tuesday evening

Wednesday night Junior Academy - A wonderful success supported by “On the Up Coaching”. The future is bright with some great prospects being developed. These young prospects are the future and with the support of our sponsors we will continue to develop them to hopefully greater things in life.

From the Club perspective

Its been an amazingly busy club here are just some of what has been achieved

- Record Sponsorship levels - A huge thank you to everyone who has supported our club. It is wonderful to see local, businesses invest in what we are doing. If you would like to be involved please do come forward and have that conversation.
- Supporting our Local Charity Heartstart - Donations still counting but likely to be in excess of £1,200
- The Premier League Disability day at CCC - Selected as hosts by the ECB , a fantastic accolade for CCC
- Memorial Day - To remember those who are sadly no longer with us, especially remembering Simon Oliver who passed away earlier this year. A huge turnout on August Bank Holiday Sunday, just simply a wonderful club day
- Mid summer Party - Enjoyed by many local colwall people who love our club and what we do for the local community
- Finally Record membership for the 2025 season both on and off the pitch

As proud Chairman of our great club a massive thank you to all the support and particularly our hardy bunch of volunteers who without we would not survive. The atmosphere within the club has been wonderful & it fills my heart with joy to see so many people enjoying what we do on or off the pitch.

The season might be over but the hardworking starts now with the Annual Dinner on the 7th Nov at The worcestershire Golf Club followed by our AGM on Tuesday 11th November

To all Colwall residents, I hope you enjoy following us within this format but why not show more support and be part of us. We can be contacted via our website be it as a volunteer or supporter we look forward to hearing from you. Its a great place to be
