After reading our grandchildren’s school reports which I have to say were far better than mine ever were I thought it was the time to provide my views to where we are as a club. What I have said to myself is be succinct and to the point without creating a document which people don't really digest or indeed read. So here we go!

Cricket
Overall going well, a few blips which can be only expected but great progress has been made by all 3 Saturday Senior teams, our Junior teams are excelling in many areas & great progress is being made by our Ladies teams. Clogs continue to do what they do - Enjoy cricket and add an extra dimension to our club. Our venture into evening league a great success securing the league title.
A big thank you to our captains who have done a wonderful job, you will never please every one! That is now simply an impossible task but they have clearly worked together, had good effective communication with players and have driven some great results.
We have work to do that’s acknowledged but plans are already in hand for 2025 for what we can do better but sometimes it good to just pause look back and see what a difference a year makes.

Thank you to all of you who have made this season a pleasure to watch not just for me but the many loyal followers of our club who sit on the sidelines week in week out.

The Club
Big decisions with the structure of the club needing to be decided before we enter the closed season. We are a very busy club and all of that needs managing by a hardy few but now time is for change and this is the right time. Work is on going to see the best route for us go - watch this space

The new pavilion project is underway and plans will soon be on general release for all to see. This is massive but if you don't kick the ball you never score a goal. Thank you to all of you engaged in the project we have an enormous amount to do with many challenges ahead but we can do it I am sure

Communications - Pitchero
The introduction was not without issues but to me this has been a great success I hope you agree. From a far I see the captains have information they need for not just the coming week but for weeks ahead which makes things so much easier. One or two things to iron out on subs and memberships but this will be worked on as we enter the end of the season.

The Membership, The Club
As you are all aware I am so proud to be chairman of this great club and this year it has been an absolute delight to be around. The atmosphere, the banter, the togetherness & the spirit has been infectious. Thank you to all who have made it work. I am big believer that good people make things happen and we are fortunate to have many of those in our club today, long may it continue.
Another one of my many joys this season is seeing the great turnout for Tuesday nights training all in CCC colours, I cannot tell you how good this looks to me.

Conclusion

Many other clubs would love to have what we have at CCC , we are far from perfect and need to improve in some areas but we have the ingredients to make it happen if everyone pulls in the right direction. We have seen what fragmentation does to a club in the past so let’s s not go anywhere near that area again.
